To qualify, you must live in the Los Angeles area, be at least 14 years old, and in or entering the 9th or 10th grade Fall of 9th grade is the first eligible training period and Summer after the 10th grade is the last eligible training period. Due to the number of applications received, we have a competitive screening process that includes a 5-page application, individual and group interviews if selected , and a parent-teen orientation meeting. Volunteers are unpaid, although you may receive community service credit at school. Teens must attend only one of these training sessions, with no absences permitted. Fall training begins in early October and ends mid-December.
