As HIV is very effectively acquired during condomless receptive anal intercourse AI with serodiscordant and viremic partners, the practice could contribute to the high prevalence among female sex workers FSW in eSwatini formerly known as Swaziland. We estimated the prevalence of AI and AI with inconsistent condom use in the past month with any partner type, and inconsistent condom use during AI and vaginal intercourse VI by partner type. Univariate and multivariable logistic regression models were used to identify behavioural and structural correlates associated with AI and AI with inconsistent condom use. Correlates of AI with inconsistent condom use were similar to those of AI. Sex act data are needed to determine how frequently AI is practiced. Interventions to address barriers to condom use are needed, as are biomedical interventions that reduce acquisition risk during AI.

HIV serostatus and socio-demographic and behavioral characteristics were collected. Logistic regression analyses were used to determine risk factors associated with HPV outcomes. The prevalence of anal HPV was Few anal swabs
Local thermal stimulation relaxes hypertonic anal sphincter
Also see Overview of Congenital Gastrointestinal Anomalies. In anal atresia, the tissue closing the anus may be several centimeters thick or just a thin membrane of skin. A fistula often extends from the anal pouch to the perineum or the urethra in males and to the vagina, the fourchette, or, rarely, the bladder in females. The incidence of anal atresia is 1 in live births.
PURPOSE: Although it is generally believed that warm perineal baths reduce pain resulting from anal fissure, complicated hemorrhoids, or anal surgery, the exact mechanisms remain unclear. Because hypertonicity of the internal anal sphincter contributes to increasing pain in these conditions, it has been postulated that warm perineal baths could help to relax the anal sphincter, hence reducing pain. It is our purpose to demonstrate response of the anal sphincter to local thermal stimulation via a somatoanal reflex.
